San Pedro

Lake Antitlan

sunny 26 °C

Friday I headed up to lake Antitlan for a few days, unfortunately it was a bit short lived because my bank card was not accepted at either of the ATM´s so I had to come back to Antigua today. It was quite the adventure crossing the rough misty lake late Friday afternoon on my own. I hand heard about a nice hostel and managed to find it quickly. Friday night the whole of the hostel went out to some bars which would have been fantastic, except twice the police came into the bars and pepper sprayed everyone....needless to say not a nice experience two times in a night but I did manage a toast for Joe´s 23rd B-day as well! I survived and enjoyed soaking up the sun at the lake Saturday and then went to hear a local band play live, and they were excellent..."I like Guatemala I like you too" maybe you had to be there but it was such a great band, bit ska ish and I jumped/danced around like the good old SOMA days! Due to the lack of funds I headed back to Antigua today and decided to head down to El Salvador for some surf! I am off tomorrow morning and with some luck might even be able to hit the waves tomorrow afternoon. I´m pretty stoked since it has been years...hopefully surfing is like riding a bike!
